New Direct TV Gay Channel : Logo - The Gay / Lesbian Channel joins Direct TV

Logo, Viacom's new TV network targeting gay and lesbian audiences that launched on June 30, has secured new US carriage agreements with Direct TV, Charter Communications and most recently Comcast.The deals with Direct TV and Charter add approximately three million viewers to the network’s reach, now estimated to be at 13m homes throughout the US. Direct TV will offer the

network in its Total Choice Plus and Total Choice Premier packages.

Dan Fawcett, evp of programming acquisition for Direct TV, said: “We strive to provide a diverse array of quality programming for our customers. Logo is unique, and it’s clear that MTV Networks has developed yet another compelling network that is certain to resonate with its target audience.”

Meanwhile, under a separate agreement, America's biggest cable network Comcast will add Logo to its Digital Plus cable package in select markets over the next 90 days. Those markets launching the Logo digital cable channel also will have 10 hours of Logo's programming available on Comcast's On Demand video-on-demand (VoD) service.

In addition to these carriage agreements with Direct TV and Charter, Logo has previously secured affiliation agreements with Cablevision Systems Corp, Time Warner Cable in New York City, Adelphia Communications Corp, RCN Corp and Atlantic Broadband.
