Direct TV's DirecWAY Increases Security

GERMANTOWN, Md., Aug. 2- Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HNS) today announced it will deliver an enhanced e-mail defense service to DIRECWAY(R) consumer and small business subscribers. The service will improve the broadband experience for more than 250,000 current DIRECWAY users through the addition of leading-edge spam and virus-fighting tools, using technology provided by MX Logic, Inc.

"HNS selected MX Logic technology because it blocks up to 98 percent of spam and protects customers' inboxes from viruses, worms, phishing attacks, and other email threats. According to a recent study by the PEW Internet American Life Project, 91 percent of Internet users said they made at least one change in their online behavior to protect their computers from unwanted elements such as spyware and viruses. DIRECWAY's enhanced e-email defense services will provide subscribers with a combination of proven spam filters, anti-virus engines, fraud protection, content and attachment filtering, and e-mail attack protection, empowering them with more control and better protection.
